The research and design (R&D) department was launched in 1992 in order to meet the needs of the company for promotion of new technologies and developing of current technologies. wagon pars is developing products for sale in local and international markets. this is achieved through establishing a project to develop the products and by mounting a marketing campaign . R&D can support for developing right products, avoiding time and cost overruns, and avoiding market problems. Success in R&D in getting the right product to market on time to exploit its potential provides a stong stimulus for a successful enterprise. R&D activities in wagon pars co can be classified in promotion of new technoloogies and products , optimization and upgrading of the company's products including bogies and wagons and reaping the company's needs for marketing and exportation . The most advanced software for technical and engineering computation are used to design the company's new products, and it also enjoys facilities and equipment for static and dynamic tests of different types of freight wagons and coaches. Some of the on going R&D projects are as follows: measuring of interactive forces between wheel and rail and modification of wu83 bogies
R&D Dept. in wagon pars in formed of :
· I- Research section: Using different information sources and advanced computer facilities, this section carries out industrial research on passenger cars and urban rail vehicles including passenger coaches, train sets, rail buses, mono rails, metros and LRV's. · II- Bogies section: This section is in charge of research, optimizing, and designing of different types of bogies for passenger and freight transportation. as well as relevent systems and equipment. · III- Wagon design section: This section deals with the design of body and chassis of different freight wagons. · IV- Caculation and test section: This section which is equipped with advanced softwares, carries out the technical calculation of different types of rolling stocks and related components. Engineering softwares such as COSMOS and ADAMS are used for static and dynamic calculations. This section also handles testing of different freight wagons and passenger coaches using modern computerized measuring equipment, special test facilities and other different measuring devices. · VI- Electrical and control systems section: This section deals with the study, research and design of electrical and control systems for rail cars.
